We Are Healthcare: Honoring Every Hero Behind the Healing at Laredo Medical Center
5/9/2025
As we celebrate National Hospital Week (May 11-17), I invite our community to reflect on the power of unity in healthcare. This year’s theme, “We Are Healthcare,” carries deep meaning for all of us at Laredo Medical Center. It speaks not only to the work we do—but to who we are.
At Laredo Medical Center, every individual—whether at a patient’s bedside, behind the scenes in administration, or offering a warm smile at the front desk—has an essential role in delivering care. Healthcare is a team effort, and our staff’s dedication and compassion make healing possible every day.
We are especially proud to share a special milestone this year that reflects the strength of our mission.
Laredo Medical Center was named by Becker’s Healthcare Review as one of the 150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare for 2025. This national recognition affirms the inclusive, purpose-driven culture we’ve built together—where our people feel respected, empowered, and inspired to serve.
Hospital Week is about recognizing the people who make a difference. From nurses to nutrition services, physicians to patient transporters, volunteers to board members—we are all healthcare. And it is our privilege to serve Laredo, Webb County and surrounding communities, together.
With gratitude,
Jorge Leal, FACHE
