Popular Laredo Association of Realtors Run George Run 5K and Wellness Fair to return to Laredo Medical Center in 2027

Lace up your shoes and roll up your sleeves as the popular Washington’s birthday tradition L.A.R.-LMC Run George Run 5K and Wellness Fair return to Laredo Medical Center in 2027.
Laredo Association of Realtors (L.A.R.), a Washington’s Birthday Celebration Association (WBCA) affiliate, and title sponsor, Laredo Medical Center, are organizing the 5K run, walk and wellness fair to be held on Saturday, February 6, at the hospital’s main campus at 1700 E. Saunders Street.
Title sponsor Laredo Medical Center will offer a Wellness Fair from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A variety of health screenings and wellness information, along with games and interactive displays, will be available free of charge to the runners, walkers and general public.
“Laredo Medical Center is thrilled to once again be the title sponsor of the 5K run, walk and wellness fair at our campus,” says Jorge Leal, FACHE, chief executive officer. “As the leading healthcare provider in the community, it’s not only our responsibility to take care of patients when they’re ill and needing to be hospitalized, but we welcome the opportunity to promote preventive health and wellness in the community, too.”
Critical screenings will be available at the LMC Wellness Fair, including cholesterol and glucose, blood pressure, pulmonary function, vision, and more. Fasting is required for the cholesterol and glucose screenings. The Wellness Fair will be held at the LMC Tower B Rotunda and Community Center.
The 3.1 run/walk is recognized as one of Laredo’s premiere chip-timed 5K events. The early registration entry fee is $35 and same-day registration is $45. The fee includes a commemorative T-shirt and medal for the first 450 racers. Online registration is available at https://laredorealtors.org/.
