Ready, Set, Go! Laredo Association of Realtors and Laredo Medical Center to Bring Back Popular 5K and Wellness Fair to Hospital Campus

LAREDO, TX (November 13, 2023) – Lace up your shoes and roll up your sleeves as the popular Washington’s Birthday 5K run, walk and wellness fair return to its original site at Laredo Medical Center in 2024.

Laredo Association of Realtors (L.A.R.), a Washington’s Birthday Celebration Association (WBCA) affiliate, is organizing the L.A.R. Run George Run 5K run and walk to be held on Saturday, February 3 with the race beginning at 8 a.m.

Title sponsor Laredo Medical Center will offer a Wellness Fair from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A variety of health screenings and wellness information will be available free of charge to the runners, walkers and general public.

“Laredo Medical Center is thrilled to welcome back the 5K run, walk and LMC wellness fair to our campus,” says Jorge Leal, FACHE, chief executive officer. “As the leading healthcare provider in the community, it’s not only our responsibility to take care of patients when they’re ill and needing to be hospitalized, but we welcome the opportunity to promote preventive health and wellness in the community, too.”

Critical screenings will be available at the LMC Wellness Fair, including cholesterol and glucose, blood pressure, pulmonary function, vision, and more. Fasting is required for the cholesterol and glucose screenings. The Wellness Fair will be held at the LMC Tower B Rotunda and Community Center.

The 3.1 mile run/walk is recognized as one of Laredo’s premiere chip-timed 5K events. The entry fee is $45 and on-site registration is $55. Online registration is available at www.laredorealtors.org or on-site on the day of the event.
