Primary Care Associates of Laredo Marks Growth with Second Clinic at LMC South

Access to quality medical care continues to thrive in the Laredo-Webb County region, thanks to Laredo Medical Center affiliate Primary Care Associates of Laredo, which hosted a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new medical office of Board-certified family medicine physician, Dr. Yanick Ekortarh, on Wednesday, December 14.
Hospital leadership and staff were joined by medical staff, the Laredo Chamber of Commerce and other well-wishers to celebrate the grand opening and meet the doctor and staff.
Located on the first floor at LMC South, 4151 Jaime Zapata Highway, Suite 101-B, Primary Care Associates of Laredo’s newest office serves the fast-growing south Laredo community by offering a medical home where residents can seek medical care and grow a lasting relationship with their medical provider.
Earlier this year in March, Primary Care Associates of Laredo opened an office at LMC South for Dr. Miguel Villarino, located on the second floor, Suite 205.
“The community now has two excellent options for primary care in south Laredo,” says Laredo Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Jorge Leal. “We are proud to offer greater access to quality care with our new Primary Care Associates of Laredo office in this part of town, and we’re planning to open a fourth location in January 2023 on Fenwick Drive in north Laredo. This is all part of our goal to provide quality care closer to where our patients live and work.”
The practicing provider at the new south location, Dr. Yanick Ekortarh, is a compassionate family medicine physician.
“I look forward to offer families greater access to much-needed primary care,” says Dr. Ekortarh. “I am committed to keeping Laredo families healthy. My office is available to offer care to children to adults, ages 5 and up, with a focus on the prevention and the management of acute and chronic conditions.”
Dr. Ekortarh is one of the newest members of the Primary Care Associates of Laredo team, joining six other family medicine physicians, including Dr. Richard Bang, Dr. Christopher Tchou, Dr. Jesus Aguirre-Burgos, Dr. Miguel Villarino, Dr. Cory Fernandes and Dr. Jacob Kallsen. All seven physicians are members of the medical staff at Laredo Medical Center with a combined total of more than 75 years of experience in family medicine.
Dr. Ekortarh received his medical education at Universidad Iberoamericana School of Medicine in the Dominican Republic. He completed his residency at Bella Vista Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
Dr. Ekortarh has a special interest in preventive care for patients ages 5 and over, including the management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, and women’s health. In addition to well-checks, he also administers PAP smear for women and the management of low testosterone for men. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
