Laredo Medical Center Welcomes Grace M. Snyder, M.D., as 2023 Chief of Staff

Grace M. Snyder, M.D., has been elected chief of staff for Laredo Medical Center. She replaces Dr. Arturo G. Garza-Gongora, who served from January to December 2022.
Dr. Snyder is the first woman in Laredo Medical Center history to assume the role as chief of staff.
“Congratulations to Dr. Snyder for making history upon her appointment with our Medical Staff leadership at Laredo Medical Center,” said CEO Jorge Leal, FACHE.
“She has the skills and experience needed to help us expand the vital partnership between the hospital’s physicians and staff to continue delivering quality clinical outcomes and exceptional patient care. Special thanks to Dr. Garza-Gongora for his service last year and we enthusiastically welcome Dr. Snyder.”
A native of Laredo, Dr. Snyder completed her medical school training at The University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, followed by a residency and fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. After completing her education, she returned home to serve her community as a Nephrologist since 2016.
She enjoys treating the community that helped raise her and has a particular interest in transplant nephrology. Dr. Snyder is also a faculty member of the Laredo Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program.
In her role as chief of staff, Dr. Snyder will serve as chairman of the hospital’s medical executive committee (MEC); preside over all meetings of the medical staff; and advise the hospital administration and the MEC on matters impacting patient care, as well as serve as spokesperson for the medical staff.
