Laredo Medical Center Welcomes Adolfo D. Diaz, M.D., General Surgery

Laredo Medical Center is proud to welcome Adolfo D. Diaz, M.D. to Laredo and to its medical staff. Dr. Diaz specializes in general surgery, which is a discipline that requires knowledge of and responsibility for the preoperative, operative and postoperative management of patients with a broad spectrum of diseases, as defined by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Diaz received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas, and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
Born in Mexico and raised in Houston for most of his life, Dr. Diaz became interested in medicine from an early age as his father was also a physician.
“However, surgery was what really captured my interest as I have always been drawn to the satisfaction of working with my hands and seeing the quick results that surgery can have,” says Diaz.
He has a particular interest in vascular access, laparoscopic procedures, colon and endocrine surgery.
Dr. Diaz is glad to be in Laredo to provide compassionate medical care. Among the surgical services he can provide are: gallbladder removal; inguinal, umbilical and ventral hernia repair; appendix removal; colon resection; thyroid/parathyroid surgery; skin cancer and skin lesion excision; hemorrhoid surgery; vascular access for hemodialysis; peritoneal dialysis catheter placement; enteral feeding access; and subcutaneous port placement.
Dr. Diaz says he will manage your entire surgical experience, working closely with your primary care physician and other specialists to provide quality, personalized surgical care.
