Laredo Medical Center To Celebrate New ER Opening With LMC & Friends Care Package Parade July 9

Laredo Medical Center is celebrating the opening of its new freestanding emergency room in north Laredo by providing an array of self-care items and more during the first-ever “LMC & Friends Care Package Parade” on Thursday, July 9 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the new facility, 9811 McPherson Road.
The community is invited to drive up to the hospital’s newest access point for emergency care, Laredo Medical Center- North Central ER, to receive a care package filled with many goodies to have a safe and healthy summer. The care package will include a face mask, hand sanitizer, cooling towel, sunscreen lotion, lip balm, first-aid kit and much more.
For safety purposes, the use of face masks or face cloth coverings, social distancing, and no-contact will be enforced. Drivers will be asked to drive up to the front entrance of the facility, remain in their vehicle, and, if possible, open/close their trunk from inside their vehicle to receive their care package.
The Laredo Chamber of Commerce and neighboring businesses are getting involved in the LMC parade by donating items for the care packages. This includes a coupon for a free personal pizza from Pizza Hut of Laredo, a coupon for a free fish sandwich from Popeyes of Laredo, beverages from L&F Distributors, personal toiletries from Residence Inn Marriott/Laredo Del Mar and a buy-one-get-half-off combo offer from Taco Palenque. Other participating businesses include ATL Total Car Care and Balloons by Pamela. Hot 106.1 and and La Ley 100.5 will be on hand for live remotes and social media livestreams. The office of Webb County Constable, Precinct 4, Harold Devally will also be present for traffic control.

Opening on Saturday, July 11, Laredo Medical Center- North Central ER will be a full spectrum emergency room with the immediate support of the hospital’s infrastructure for any patient, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The ER is conveniently located in the growing residential and business community in north Laredo, close to North Central Park. All major insurance plans will be accepted including Medicare and Medicaid.
The 10,500 square-foot facility will feature seven private exam rooms including trauma, gynecology, and bariatric treatment with experienced emergency physicians and the skilled clinical staff of Laredo Medical Center.
A variety of emergency services will be offered, including:
- High-resolution CT scans from a 64-slice scanner
- Digital X-ray imaging
- Ultrasound imaging
- Cardiac monitoring, evaluation and EKG
- Splinting, slings, crutches, ortho boots
- IV medications and fluids
- Ventilation/Intubation
- Tests for strep, COVID-19 and flu
- Onsite pharmacy services
- Onsite lab testing
- Critical care monitoring and stabilization
