Laredo Medical Center Enhances Cancer Care

Newly renovated medical office provides more comfort and convenience close to home
LAREDO, TX – Cancer care in Laredo and Webb County has received a major boost with the newly renovated medical office of Laredo Hematology & Oncology Associates.
The occasion was celebrated during a grand reopening where hospital leadership, medical staff and caregivers were joined by the Laredo Chamber of Commerce and other well-wishers. A ceremonial ribbon cutting was held to formally open the facility, which is located at 1700 E. Saunders, Tower A, Suite A-140.
“Laredo Medical Center is proud to reopen the office for Laredo Hematology & Oncology Associates with Dr. Mohsen Ghadimi-Mahani at the helm, eliminating the need to travel out of town for specialized treatment,” says CEO Jorge Leal, FACHE.
Dr. Mahani is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. He specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of blood diseases and cancers. Dr. Mahani has been practicing at Laredo Medical Center since 2014. His main focus includes gastrointestinal cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer, prostate cancer, lymphoma and cancers of the blood.
The medical office has been expanded to include five additional exam rooms, an expanded waiting area, a centralized and expanded nursing station, and new triage stations, among other enhancements.
“Our vision for Laredo Hematology & Oncology Associates is to be able to serve more patients and continue to provide this community with enhanced cancer care services that are second to none in our region. We can treat patients in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere that is beneficial to the healing process,” says Leal.
Dr. Mahani received his medical degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Santo Domingo, DR in 2007. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Methodist Hospital in Houston and completed his fellowship in medical oncology at UTMB. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
