Enrique Gallegos, Chief Executive Officer of Laredo Medical Center, has announced he is leaving the hospital to relocate and be closer to family as well as to pursue other endeavors within healthcare. His last day will be at the end of October.
“It has been a sincere honor and privilege to have served in this leadership position for the last six years. I am grateful to our skilled medical staff, dedicated employees, and excellent administrative team and board of directors for all we have accomplished
together for the residents of Laredo and surrounding communities,” said Enrique Gallegos, CEO.
Jorge Gonzalez, LMC Board Chair, said that Laredo Medical Center has thrived under Enrique's leadership and he has assembled a high performing team focused on quality, safety and growth that will remain in place.
“Enrique also earned the confidence of our community as evidenced by his many board appointments as well as having been named Board Chairman for the Laredo Chamber of Commerce,” said Gonzalez.
During his tenure in Laredo, Enrique has led the hospital and affiliated clinics to increase the number of patients served. Access to medical services has grown throughout the community, with the opening of Laredo CareClinic North & South and the North Central ER. The launch of primary care residency programs for Family Medicine and Internal Medicine are training a new generation of providers and creating more opportunities for people to secure primary care. Enrique has also helped recruit many specialist physicians to the community, improving access to critical services locally. Through all of these achievements and more, he leaves Laredo Medical Center positioned for continued success.
