Laredo Medical Center Welcomes New Physician Virginia Goytia Barragán, M.D., Radiation Oncology

LAREDO, TX — Laredo Medical Center and Laredo Hematology & Oncology Associates are proud to welcome Virginia Goytia Barragán. M.D., to its medical staff. Dr. Goytia Barragán is a board-certified radiation oncologist who replaces Dr. Manuel Jovel, who retired in July.
Dr. Goytia Barragán was born in Nuevo Laredo and raised in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She moved to Laredo, Texas, where she attended the former Laredo Junior College and Texas A&M International University. After completing her college studies locally, she moved to Boston for medical school.
Dr. Goytia Barragán graduated from Harvard Medical School with a Doctorate in Medicine in June 2003 and completed her residency in radiation oncology in May 2008 at the University of Texas Health Science Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center, in San Antonio. She is board certified in radiation oncology and has been practicing for more than 10 years.
Dr. Goytia Barragán will continue to offer radiation treatment to Laredoans and those in surrounding communities exclusively at Laredo Medical Center’s A.R Sanchez Cancer Center. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
