Laredo Medical Center to Host Community Blood Drive July 30–31
7/11/2025
Laredo Medical Center, in collaboration with South Texas Blood & Tissue, will host a two-day community blood drive on Wednesday, July 30, and Thursday, July 31, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Private Dining Room located inside LMC’s McAuley Cafeteria.
Themed the “Lucky Draw” Blood Drive, this special event will thank donors with a Valero gas gift card valued anywhere from $10 to $150—a small reward for making a big difference.
There is a constant need for blood donations in South Texas and across the country. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood, and one in seven people entering a hospital will require a blood transfusion. Yet despite the need, only about 3% of eligible Americans donate blood each year. Increasing both the number of donors and the frequency of donations is essential to help save lives.
Donation Eligibility
Most healthy individuals are eligible to donate. Donors must:
- Be at least 17 years old (or 16 with parental consent)
- Weigh at least 110 pounds
- Be in good general health
All donors must bring a photo ID, along with the last four digits of their Social Security number and their date of birth.
Appointments are encouraged and may be scheduled online:
