Laredo Medical Center Advances Construction of New Emergency Room in Southeast Laredo

Laredo Medical Center continues to strengthen its commitment to the community as construction progresses on a new emergency department in southeast Laredo to better serve the area’s growing population and expanding business corridor.
Laredo Medical Center Buena Vista ER officially broke ground in June 2025, and construction reached a significant milestone with a topping-out ceremony in October 2025, marking the completion of the building’s structural framework at the future site, located at 4019 Cuatro Vientos Road, near the Buena Vista Sports Complex.
Buena Vista ER will operate 24/7, offering full-service emergency care supported by the numerous clinical resources of Laredo Medical Center. With nearly 57,000 patient encounters annually across its emergency rooms, LMC plays a vital role in delivering lifesaving, medically necessary care to patients throughout the region.
Once complete, the facility will provide convenient access to emergency services closer to home for families and businesses in the southern part of the city and surrounding communities.

The 11,206-square-foot facility will feature:
- Eight private exam rooms, including specialized trauma and OB/isolation rooms;
- Three private triage bays;
- On-site radiology and laboratory services; and
- Care provided by board-certified emergency physicians and skilled clinical staff.
Construction is expected to be completed by late summer 2026. The new emergency room will create more than 19 healthcare jobs, with open positions posted on the hospital’s career page as the opening approaches.
