Laredo Medical Center To Break Ground on New ER in South Laredo

LAREDO, Texas – Laredo Medical Center is expanding its commitment to the community with a new emergency department in South Laredo to better serve the area’s growing population and business corridor.
The community is invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for Laredo Medical Center–Buena Vista ER on Thursday, June 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the future site: 4019 Cuatro Vientos Road, near the Buena Vista Sports Complex.
The Buena Vista ER will operate 24/7, offering full-service emergency care backed by the comprehensive resources of Laredo Medical Center. With nearly 57,000 patient encounters annually across its emergency rooms, LMC plays a vital role in delivering lifesaving, medically necessary care to all patients.
The facility is designed to provide quick, convenient access to emergency services, closer to home for families and businesses in the southern part of the city.
“We are proud to make this important investment in South Laredo,” said Jorge Leal, FACHE, CEO of Laredo Medical Center. “Our new ER will bring critical, hospital-supported emergency services to the area and continue our legacy of trusted quality care for all Laredoans, close to where they live and work.”
The 11,206 square foot facility will feature:
- Eight private exam rooms, including specialized trauma and OB/isolation rooms;
- Three private triage bays;
- On-site radiology and lab services; and
- Care provided by board-certified emergency physicians and skilled LMC clinical staff.
Construction is expected to be completed by late summer 2026, and the facility will create more than 19 new healthcare jobs. Open positions will be listed on the hospital’s careers page as the opening nears.
Construction will be managed by Doster Construction.
