Laredo Medical Center Recruits Six Physicians, Each Offering Specialized Care

Six physicians are now caring for patients with each providing specialized care to Laredoans and residents of surrounding areas, thanks to the recruiting efforts of Laredo Medical Center.

Jesus I. Aguirre-Burgos, M.D., specializes in family medicine and has 35 years of experience. His past experience includes working as a staff physician at several hospitals and clinics in Laredo and Eagle Pass, Texas, from 1986-2004, before opening his private practice in 2004. He continues to offer primary care services exclusively at Primary Care Associates of Laredo. He received his medical education at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and is a member of the American Medical Association. Dr. Aguirre-Burgos has a special interest in the management of acute and chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Joaquin G. Cigarroa, IV, M.D., is an interventional cardiologist who specializes in general cardiology, interventional cardiology and vascular medicine, and is board certified in internal medicine and general cardiology. He joins Dr. Ricardo J.G. Cigarroa, II at the Cigarroa Clinic to partner and continue a family legacy of providing quality care for healthier hearts. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Joaquin received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he also completed his internship and residency in internal medicine. Most recently, he completed an advanced fellowship in interventional cardiology and endovascular interventions at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Michael C. Morris, M.D., FACS, FASMBS, specializes in general surgery and bariatric surgery. Dr. Morris is a board-certified general surgeon who has been practicing in Laredo and serving as the bariatric medical director at Laredo Medical Center since 2008. He graduated from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico, in 2001 and completed his residency at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Morris continues offering Laredoans and those in surrounding communities general surgery and bariatric surgery with the latest in robotic-assisted and advanced laparoscopic surgery, exclusively at Laredo Medical Center. Among the services he offers are gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, duodenal switch, gallbladder removal, inguinal, umbilical and ventral hernia repair, appendix removal, colon resection, enteral feeding access and subcutaneous port placement.
Christopher B. Tchou, D.O., specializes and is board certified in family medicine. He received his medical education at Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee. Dr. Tchou completed his residency as part of the first class of the Laredo Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program, where he served as co-chief resident and received the Family Medicine Resident Leadership Award at the completion of the three-year program. Dr. Tchou has a special interest in providing wellness and preventive care to men, women and children ages 10 and up. This includes the management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol, as well as Pap smear procedures for women and more. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
G. Alexander Trivette, Jr., M.D., specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Trivette is from Richmond, Virginia. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He has a special interest in general obstetrics and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. One of his favorite things about medicine is building relationships with his patients and getting to know the community. He is a compassionate and dedicated OB/GYN physician who is committed in providing the best quality care for his patients. Dr. Trivette is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Miguel Villarino, M.D., specializes in family medicine and has 24 years of experience. He received his medical education at the Universidad Autónoma Baja California in Mexicali, Mexico, and completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After being in private practice for more than 20 years, Dr. Villarino is continuing to offer primary care services exclusively at Primary Care Associates of Laredo. He has a special interest in the management of acute and chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Dr. Villarino is fluent in English and Spanish.
