Laredo Medical Center’s rehabilitation services are designed to help patients through the process of recovering from injury or illness. Our goal is to help people regain their independence and improve their lives.
Our outpatient rehabilitation center offers a number of complete programs and services, like exercise physiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy to patients of all ages.
Our 12-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit treats individuals who have physical or cognitive deficits from disease or injury. Patients are referred to the inpatient rehab unit as soon as they are stabilized from within Laredo Medical Center or from another medical facility.
Regardless of whether a patient spends time in our inpatient or outpatient program, a skilled team of professionals is dedicated to each of their rehabilitation needs. Our team approach makes this possible, bringing together rehabilitation professionals from many disciplines, including: psychology, nursing, pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, speech-language pathology, social work, case management and nutrition. The whole team works together to develop the most appropriate treatment plan for each patient, but doesn’t forget to include auxiliary, but still very important outside team members-family, friends, caregivers and significant others.
Patients may be referred to outpatient and inpatient programs by a doctor, insurance company, discharge planner or social worker, home health agency or family member. Self-referrals are also welcome.
