Laredo Medical Center Home Health & Hospice Services is an agency
offering a continuum of care to clients in Laredo, Rio Bravo, El Cenizo and the
surrounding communities. Our agency was founded on a history of caring for
others, we are very proud to have been offering our services for 24 years.
Laredo Medical Center Home Health & Hospice is the perfect resource for persons
in need of assistance in the comfort of their own homes. This allows an
individual to be among familiar surroundings when he or she is need of
specialized treatment, personal care assistance, or just respite from caring for
a loved one.
We accept referrals for patient care from hospitals,
physicians and private individuals (you). Once the physician agrees that health
care is needed in the home, orders are given and the patient is contacted to set
up a date, and a time, for the Registered Nurse to visit in the home for
assessment of the patient’s needs.

is proud to be able to provide:
• Skilled Nursing Services, nurses who work
with your doctor to assess needs and provide skilled treatment; if necessary a
registered nurse is available 24 hours a day.
• Physical therapists provide
therapeutic exercises, and gait training as well as wound care and wound
assessment.
• Speech therapists who help improve speaking or swallowing
problems.
• Occupational therapists who help patients regain day to day
skills such as eating, dressing, housekeeping and personal hygiene.
• Medical
Social Workers help patients and families cope with family issues. And Home
health aide help with daily basics such as bathing and dressing.
Our
staff does everything necessary to provide quality care and excellent customer
service. Our unique approach to Home Health Services is to provide a team of
professionals to every step of the process. From the physician, to the Home
Health providers, highly skilled professionals are involved in the in the
patient’s care plan, and progress. We provide same day admission when necessary.
Our one to one patient care focus is on achieving functional outcomes and
maximizing patient independence.
Laredo Medical Center Hospice
program offers compassionate care to families managing the journey through a
life limiting illness or injury. Quality medical care is tailored to the
patient’s wishes, focusing on caring- not curing. At the center of care is the
belief that all of us have the right to die pain-free and with dignity, and that
our families will receive the necessary support for this journey. The personal
physician, hospice medical director and hospice team work with the patient and
family to develop a plan of care that meets the patient’s individual needs for
pain management, symptom control, as well as emotional, social and spiritual
needs. It also addresses the needs of the family to maximize support to the
family during this life’s journey.
Teaching is an important aspect of
Laredo Medical Center Home Health & Hospice. Whether it is education on a
disease process, medication or diet, our staff is able and ready to meet these
needs. We can also connect clients to community resources which can help in
adapting to a new diagnosis or change in life style.
Many families are
understandably concerned with the cost of health care. Home care is a good
alternative to hospital care in some instances. Most insurances companies
provide full or partial payment for home care. Our home care team will review
and explain your coverage. We bill your insurance directly to free you from
paperwork hassle. We accept Medicare, HMOs, Texas Medicaid, private insurance
and private pay patients. Referrals to Laredo Medical Center Home Health
Services can be provided by your physician, family, friends, your insurance
company, hospitals, rehabilitation units and even the patient.
