Laredo Medical Center is proud to have just built the largest Emergency Department (ED) in the area! The new 26,000 sq. ft. ED includes some of the most advanced medical equipment and amenities for patients. There are 38 private treatment rooms that offer bedside registration, flat screen TVs, access to designated bathrooms and a shower, a specialized Gynecology exam room, in-house Lab for quick turn-around results, and an in-house Radiology Unit with 100% digital equipment. The waiting room is very spacious and includes a designated area for children, and the entire ED is Wi-Fi capable for internet access from personal devices.
The ED maintains a trauma designation of Level III. Included in the new ED are three Trauma rooms, each set up with all the necessary equipment needed to care for trauma patients. An advanced computer system in each room allows Physicians to send orders immediately to other departments and enter orders electronically expediting care for the patient.

Chest Pain Center
Laredo Medical Center is the only Accredited Chest Pain Center in the area. LMC has received full Cycle II Chest Pain Center Accreditation with PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Interventions) from The Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care Accreditation Review Committee. The national accreditation is awarded to hospitals for their speed and efficiency in treating chest pain and heart attack symptoms.
There are only 320 accredited chest pain centers nationally.
