Patricia Sullivan joins LMC as CNO

Patricia Sullivan joins Laredo Medical Center as Chief Nursing Officer

January 26, 2010 - Laredo Medical Center is pleased to have Patricia Sullivan on staff as Chief Nursing Officer. The CNO position is one of the highest ranking patient care providers in the hospital and typically oversees the hundreds of employees who oversee patient care in each hospital department.

Ms. Sullivan brings a wealth of experience to LMC having worked in the healthcare industry since 1979—and for Community Health Systems (the parent company of LMC) since 2005.

Prior to coming to Laredo, Patricia worked as Chief Nursing Officer Consultant at Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston, Louisiana, where she proved to be an instrumental asset to the medical center. In that position, she was able to bring this newly acquired hospital into compliance with The Joint Commission (the agency that accredits hospitals nationwide) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. Because of her diligence in maintaining the hospital’s standards, Ms. Sullivan was asked numerous times to extend her stay on board as consultant.

Ms. Sullivan has also served several hospitals as Interim Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer where her expertise was instrumental in developing new protocols to better serve patients, medical staff and the communities of those facilities as a whole. Furthermore, under her leadership, several hospitals saw the implementation of new programs, improvements in nursing care and several new policies to help streamline antiquated processes for better patient care and customer service. One such improvement even led to one hospital being recognized as #1 in Patient Satisfaction throughout all hospitals in the Community Health Systems umbrella of medical centers.

Throughout her career in healthcare, Ms. Sullivan has served in other capacities including Quality Management Consulting and Patient Care Coordinator. She credits each position with giving her new and fresh perspectives in healthcare, which in-turn has led her to become one of the most experienced, revered and sought-after healthcare providers within the highly competitive healthcare industry.

Patricia received a Master of Business Administration in Hospital Administration from the University of Dallas. Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Administration from St. Edwards University in Austin, and a Diploma in Nursing from Hillcrest Hospital School of Nursing in Waco.

Laredo Medical Center is privileged to have Ms. Sullivan join the team of highly professional healthcare providers serving the Laredo and surrounding areas. Originally founded in 1894, Laredo Medical Center is a 325-bed licensed, acute care hospital offering a full range of inpatient and outpatient services.
