Visiting Hours

8:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Visitors can be good medicine for patients, family members and friends are welcome to visit. However, patient care is our primary concern and it is important for patients to receive as much rest and relaxation as possible. For that reason, we ask that friends and relatives adhere to the following guidelines. No more than two visitors are allowed at the bedside at one time. Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests and/or treatments or when the physician or nurse needs to see the patient.

Medical & Intensive Care Units

6:00 a.m. - 6:30 a.m.
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

8:00 a.m - 9:00 a.m.
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
8:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m.

Visiting hours are open for parents and grandparents. Previous arrangements can be made with the charge nurse.

Mother-Baby Unit

10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.
5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Waiting Areas

There are specially designated lounge areas for visitors on each patient floor and on the first floor in the lobby.  A volunteer hostess is on duty in the surgery waiting room to keep family members informed about the progress of the surgery and the patient's condition.  An auxiliary courtesy information desk is also available in the emergency waiting area.

Information Desk

The information desk is staffed by the medical center's Auxiliary and located in the lobby, next to the main entrance. Volunteers will give your family and friends patient room numbers and direct your questions to the appropriate departments. The information desk hours are 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday, and calls or inquiries may be directed to (956) 796-2808.

Gift Shop

The gift shop, operated by the medical center Auxiliary and staffed by volunteers, is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.  The shop has gift items, jewelery, greeting cards, candy, toiletries and flowers.  The gift shop is located in the main lobby and the telephone number is (956) 796-4721.

McAuley Cafe

The cafeteria is located in the main lobby and is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack bar menus.

Patient Gifts

Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts of food and/or drink to patients.  Certain gifts, including food, fresh flowers, and live plants are prohibited in the critical care units.
